Christine Pybus
Born in Whitby in 1954, Christine left school for a career in communications, whilst indulging in her lifelong passion for painting whenever possible.
Increasing success with her painting allowed her in 1997 to change career and to paint full time, opening her own gallery in Whitby in 1998 which she sold in 2007 to concentrate more on her own work
She paints in both oil and watercolour, her pictures are almost always completed on location, and she has painted in Britain, Europe, and the Southern Hemisphere.
Other art activities have included talks on art history, teaching at evening classes and on short courses, art demonstrations and two broadcasts for BBC Radio Cleveland.
Christine was elected a member of the Fylingdales Group of Artists in 2000.
